About the Job
This role supports the management of problem loans by assisting with borrower communications, record keeping, and loan resolution processes. The associate will work closely with the Special Assets Officer as well as internal and external teams to facilitate efforts that minimize losses while maintaining focus on Real and Lasting mutual success.
Roles and Responsibilities

Here are the daily responsibilities you’ll perform at Tandem Servicing:
Facilitate borrower interactions by coordinating outbound calls, engaging in challenging conversations, drafting correspondence, and documenting negotiations.
Perform collections for loans that are delinquent 30+ days.
Generate and send demand letters for borrowers 60+ days delinquent.
Support loan portfolio management by tracking problem loans and maintaining detailed records of borrower communications and loan actions.
Aid in workout plan execution by preparing materials for repayment plans, reduced payoffs, and other market driven solutions.
Assist in document analysis by reviewing financial statements, collateral valuations, and other relevant materials.
Prepare reports summarizing loan statuses and borrower responses for officer review.
Coordinate valuations and title updates by working with internal and external partners.
Assist in compliance efforts by ensuring documentation aligns with policies and regulations.
Support collateral liquidation efforts by scheduling appraisals, foreclosure referrals, auctions, and tracking expenses.
Manage REO properties by assisting in property preservation, valuation, and marketing. Engage brokers, attorneys, and asset preservation vendors.
Participate in committee meetings by preparing agenda items, taking minutes, and distributing follow-ups.
Work with Tandem Servicing on loan system entries and loan record maintenance.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in finance, real estate, or a related field.
· 2-4 years in loan servicing, credit risk, collections, default management, REO management, or related roles within banking or financial services.
· Working knowledge of loan documentation and loss mitigation practices.
· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable speaking with borrowers over the phone.
· Professionalism and composure in borrower interactions.
· Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
· Proficient in MS Office and ability to work within loan servicing or CRM platforms.
· Experience in real estate financing, residential transitional lending (RTL) or fix-and-flip loans is preferred but not required.
